policy and Class schedule.
Q. How
long is this recovery program?
A. The New Life Center Christian Recovery Program is a sixteen week residential
program. We do not offer an out-patient program at this time.
Q. What if I do not want to go to the program because
of too many known associates in the area. Is there a different location you
can offer?
A. The New Life Center Christian Recovery Program has only one location but
we do know of other Christian Recovery programs outside the surrounding area.
We also make referrals to other programs which are secular.
Q. Can I bring money with me?
A. We advise that clients do not bring large amounts of money or posses more
than ten dollars because of the temptation to relapse or lose it. We advise
all who come not to bring anything of value. We will not be responsible for
loss of property. We have a Transition Fund available for those who receive
checks and need a holding place for the money while residing in the New Life
Center.
Q. What should I bring?
A. Enrolles should bring a week's worth of clothing and personal hygiene items.
Church attendance is required on Sundays and if possible bring appropriate
clothing. You may bring your own bible. If you do not have one, the New Life
Center will provide one for you. We will assist anyone needing personal items
as long as we have them on hand (soap, toothpaste, clothing). Each person
is responsible for keeping their clothing and bed linen clean. A free laundry
room is provided. You may have an alarm clock but it may not have a radio
or any type of entertainment system attached. No beepers or cell phones are
allowed.
Q. I have a car, may I bring it?
A. You may bring a personal vehicle but you must surrender the keys during
the week. Participants are not permitted to drive during the week without
permission, nor may clients give other clients rides at any time.
Q. Can I make phone calls or receive mail while there?
A. Telephone calls may be made during the 30-minute time period allotted during
free time or by making arrangements with your counselor. Bring a phone card
with you if you plan on making calls outside the local calling area. We recommend
that each client bring stamps, paper and envelopes. Mail is delivered five
days a week. Our mailing address is: (Client name) 317 North Main Street,
Enterprise, Alabama 36330.
Q. Can my family and friends visit me while I am at
the New Life Center?
A. Onsite visitation is prohibited. All visits will be conducted away from
the Center. Clients may earn passes after the first weekend and they may sign
out on pass after they complete their work on Saturday and remain on pass
until Sunday evening at curfew.
Q. What about medication?
A. There is no medical staff at the New Life Center. Anyone requiring medication
will be solely responsible for making arrangements to keep their prescriptions
filled and taking the medication as directed by a doctor. If you are taking
medication, contact your physician or pharmacist to determine if it will show
up as positive on a 72 hour urine test for narcotics, alcohol, or other addictive
substances. Clients who currently take medication should contact a physician
before changing any prescribed medication. If there is a medication conflict
that would cause failure of a drug test the client should always seek medical
help to determine if an alternatitive is available. No exceptions will be
made if the drug test can not be passed. All candidates must pass a urine
drug screen at admission and random tests will be required throughout the
duration of the program. We suggest that you stop using now but, at least
stop at the time you make the call for your bed to avoid any chance of not
being admitted. Contact us for further clarification if necessary.
Q. I need to work to help support my family while going
to class there. Can I work when not in class?
A. No outside employment is allowed while attending the New Life Center. There
is no fee for our services, therefore clients will work for the Christian
Mission to offset program costs.
Q. What if I want to leave?
A. The staff of the New Life Center will not attempt to stop or deter anyone
from leaving but is always available for counseling. This is a voluntary enrollment
and all who come are free to leave any time they choose. We are committed
to giving everyone a chance to achieve recovery. If a client leaves, they
may not be readmitted so, the decision should be well thought out in advance
and possibly discussed with staff..
